Group Management
Groups are a very powerful feature that will allow you to apply blocklists by groups of clients. One size doesn't always fit all, so creating groups and clients will help keep everyone happy.
Please note: Creating groups and clients are NOT required. They are provided to provide better control over which blocklists are appropriate for each group of clients. If group management is not used, all enabled blocklists will apply to all users and devices.
The basic premise is this:
- You first create empty groups.
- You then identify your clients.
- You then assign clients to be members of a group.
- You can then specify what blocklists shall apply to each group.
For example purposes we are going to assume we have a typical household with 2 adults and 2 children, and an average collection of electronic devices.
- The adults each have smartphones, tablets and computers.
- The children each have a smartphone and share a computer and an Xbox.
- In the house, they have a smart TV, a streaming device and 3 Amazon Alexa devices.
We will use the example page to outline the steps we'll need to perform to setup a CYBERsitter BLACK for this household.
